Benjamin P. Yost
Benjamin P. Yost is an Associate Professor of Accounting and the Clark Family Faculty Fellow at the Boston College Carroll School of Management.
He joined Boston College in 2017 after earning his doctorate at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he has also served as a visiting professor. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he completed his undergraduate and M.S. degrees at the University of Virginia and worked for Ernst & Young in McLean, Virginia, where he obtained his CPA designation.
Professor Yost has taught financial accounting to undergraduate and Masters of Finance students. He has received the Teaching Star Award multiple times in recognition of outstanding student evaluations and his commitment to fostering intellectual rigor in the classroom. His research has been recognized with several honors, including the Competitive Manuscript Award from the American Accounting Association and the ATA/PwC Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award.
Professor Yost’s research examines the role of corporate disclosures in capital markets and the effects of taxes and tax-related disclosures on corporate decision-making. He has presented his work at leading universities and academic conferences, and has published numerous articles in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Journal of Accounting Research, and The Accounting Review.
