Rebecca Bloch

Rebecca Bloch, PhD, CPA is an associate professor of accounting and former Accounting Department chair at the Charles F. Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She currently serves as Vice Accounting Department chair.
Dr. Bloch teaches accounting for both the undergraduate and the graduate levels. Her courses have included governmental and nonprofit accounting, intermediate accounting, and financial and managerial accounting. Dr. Bloch has been recognized with awards for excellence in teaching. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, and she received her PhD from Rutgers University.
Dr. Bloch began her career as an auditor, where she audited primarily nonprofit and governmental entities. She later worked in the private and nonprofit sectors before pursuing her PhD.
Dr. Bloch serves on the Executive Committee of the Governmental and Nonprofit Section of the American Accounting Association. She currently serves as research program chair & annual meeting program chair and has previously served as Education Committee chair.
Dr. Bloch has published research in The Journal of Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting, Issues in Accounting Education, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Government Financial Management, The Municipal Finance Journal, and Advances in Public Interest Accounting, among others. She has received grants to support her research and has received awards for research excellence.
